on the weekend of 20th -21st September, teams from the Scout section of the District came together for the annual Dunnicliff camp, this is a camp where the teams are tested acorss a wide range of skills, from tent pitching to first aid and are judged accordingly.
On the Friday night they all met at South Normanton Scout Hut and due to the weather they all spent the night at the scout hut, Then walked up to the campsite Saturday morning meeting Alfreton Scouts at the site.
During they day they was going round different bases, Doing a wide range of things from First AId to Tent Pitching, All they young people showed good skills and knowledge.
Around 3pm they all walked back from the Campsite to the Scout Hut where they all cooked meal for thier tea and to be judge by the judges, there was some nice dishes on offer.
Craig brought the camp to an end with the presentation of awards, Alfreton Scouts won the overall event with Tibshelf coming 2nd and South Normanton coming 3rd.
There was also and extra special award for Bernard Marriott who is the Scout Leader for Pinxton scouts and the ADC Scouts for the district, as he was presented with his 40 years of service certificate by our DC Criag Marsh.
