Over the last weekend of June into July Cubs and Scouts from across the District came together to spend the weekend up at our Campsite, with the theme being International
The camp was officially started on the Friday night by Craig (District Commissioner), He set out the plan for the weekend and letting everyone know what they was expected to do over the course of the weekend he set some rules so that everyone would be safe.
After the opening Craig then passed over to Adi and Eoin from the District’s explorer unit and helped by Ash the District Youth Commissioner to run a wide game for the young people this involved spitting into two teams, One team would go off and hide and the other one went off and to find them, once the wide game finished the young people then went off for a walk with Darren and Simon from South Normanton scouts.
On the Saturday 30th July they day started off with breakfast that was cooked centrally by some of the leaders and helpers from across the District, they then went on to do activities during the day from playing boules to rifle shooting, They also had a go at a NERF firing range and some craft bases.
In the evening Adi and his team ran another wide game this time they was split into three teams with each team having a different colour bottle of water to go and find, and the team who bring all their coloured bottles back won, They also had a Campfire in the evening to.
On the Sunday 1st the young people was once again treated to a nice breakfast cooked by the leaders, and then off they went on a morning worth of activities such as climbing and caving.
The camp was drawn to a close by Craig in the afternoon and once kit was packed and tidied away all the groups went their separate ways to hopefully relax from the weekend.
