Founders Day Service

At 2pm on Sunday 25th of February, Alfreton District Scouts form most groups within the district met at Dunnicliff Camp Site, to celebrate  the Birthday of Scouting founder Lieutenant-General Lord Robert Baden Powell.

To mark this occasion members from each section renewed their promise under the leadership of a leader from Beavers, Cubs or Scouts, with new leaders and new members being invested within the ceremony, Due to the fact that this was an outside service in woodland, the Beavers and Cubs took part in a activity to produce bird feeders (60 trees now feature a bird feeder), while the older Scouts mounted twenty bird boxes around the site.

The Service was finished with a moment of reflection, with the whole district being encouraged to spare a thought for leaders, parents, guardians and peers who are currently in need of support through their difficult times.

Thank you to all who attended
