Sunday 24th February we met at our campsite at our campsite to celebrate the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell who was the founder of the Scout movement.
Craig our DC started the service by getting us into an horseshoe to brake the flag, He welcomed us all to the service and gave abit of a talk on why we are all there, and what we are going to do during the afternoon.
While stood in the horseshoe we all renewed out promises, Starting with the Beaver, then the Cubs, then the Scouts, Leaders and Explorer, which was a good task to see who can still remember it.
As this service was a day of thinking about others, we made memory bundles to put on trees to help think of other people besides ourselves, We also had a memorial service for 2 of our Leaders who sadly passed away last year, Craig had made a plaque to go on a tree that despite all that it has had thrown at it its still budding, on this tree we put the names of the leaders we lost last year, and invited members of their families to come along and join in with our service. We also planted 2 trees an Oak tree for our Explorer Leader Sean Mcging who passed away in June last year, and one for one our Cub Leaders Mick Joesbury. These trees will hopefully grow in to something that will help cherish their memories.
The service came to an end with a prayer for both Sean and Mick, plus a couple of investitures for some of the groups.
